In 1980 a small group of Christians came up with an idea of removing their catechumen children to Maragua local church because of the long distance and have their catechism near their village at one of the Christian’s home called Jane Wambui. After 3 years of the catechism, the Christians came up with another idea of looking for a place where they can be having prayers and catechism teaching.
In 1983 small Christians community was started and here in Ikundu we had 1 scc called The Sacred Heart of Jesus. The leaders of the scc that time was the late Jane Wambui, the late Peter Muiyuro, Mariamu Mugeni and they went to Fr. Paul Sorgon and asked him to be assisted to have a plot. Fr agreed and asked them to proceed on. They got a land from one of the Christian called Serah Kabura who sold at Ksh. 15,000.Fr. Paul celebrated the first mass in 1985 in that plot. And they started constructing the church. The scc are:
